10 Juillet 2010: the Summer School "Knowledge, conservation and management of Plant Biodiversity of Mediterranean Coastal and Insular systems ", organized by the Department of Botany and the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Palermo, with the scientific support of OPTIMA  and the International Foundation pro Herbario Mediterraneo, will be held in Erice (TP-Sicily), from 3th to 14th September 2010. It is open to 30 candidates with a three or five years University degree in a scientific discipline related to the study of plant biodiversity. The Application deadline is the 7th August 2010 at 12:00. 17 Juin 2010: TWAS and the International Year of Biodiversity (http://www.twas.org/) As part of our participation in theInternational Year of Biodiversity, TWAS is aiming to assist the training of a new generation of taxonomists in the developing world. Together with our partner organizations, we are recommending a number of institutions that offer opportunities for TWAS-UNESCO Associateships. The list of institutions (PDF) includes those eligible to host TWAS South-South Fellowships.
